Past Simple:

Form:
To form the past simple with regular verbs, we use the infinitive and then we add the termination "-ed". The form is the same for every person. (I, you, he, she, it, we, they).
-
Ex:
Want-wanted
Walk-walked
Show-showed
Exceptions:
  1. For verbs that end in "e", only add "-d".
  2. If the verb end in a short vocal and consonant (except "y" or "w"), put another consonat in the end.
  3. With verbs that end in a consonant and "y", we change the "y" for a "i".
To form the past with irregular verbs we use the second column for the list of irregular verbs.
-
Ex:
See-saw-seen: VER
Do-did-done: HACER
Have-had-had. TENER

Pronunciation:
We pronunce the ending "-ed" differently depending on the letter in the end of the infinitive. In general the "-e" is silent.
-
  1. With the infinitive that end in “p”“f”“k” o “s” (only deaf, except "t") we say the termination "-ed" like a "t".
  2. With the infinitive that end in “b”“g”“l”“m”“n”“v”“z” (voiced consonant, except "d") or a vocal, only pronounce "d" .
  3.  Whit the infinitive that end in “d” or “t” we pronounce the "e" like a "i"..
