   PROJECT ABOUT LANDSCAPES - ANDES

The Andes or Andes Mountains are the longest continental mountain range in the world.

  • Location: The Andes are located in the West of South America exactly there are extend from North to South through seven countries: Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Chile and Argentina. The Andes are next to the Pacific ocean.
  • Climate: The Andes mountain range is characterized by having an undefined climate can present frost, drought, hail or excessive rain; At night it can freeze even in summer and in the                                                   middle of the day very hot.
  • Vegetation:The extremely diverse climatic and physical conditions of the Andes have given rise to a variety of vegetation ranging from rainforest to tropical tundra with a vertical distribution of zones. These conditions produce low or cushioned shrubs, plants stuck to the ground, with deep and widespread roots, and few leaves, with plant parts covered by knitted or with abundant resinous secretions.

  • Fauna: The most characteristic species of the Andes are the South American camelids, the guanaco being the most widespread.
